Whitecaps FC are back at home this week to celebrate ’80s Match, and Pride with the return of ’Caps & Queens

VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC are back at home this week with two celebration matches at BC Place, including Wednesday’s ’80s Match presented by Chevrolet and Saturday’s Pride Match presented by BMO, which will feature the return of ’Caps & Queens.

"We are thrilled to be back at BC Place this week, having won four of our last five games during this unbeaten run, as we get set to celebrate our ’80s and Pride matches,” said Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC CEO. “Our club is looking forward to welcoming our 86ers alumni and entertaining our fans throughout the match against Sporting Kansas City. Then we will shift our excitement to Saturday’s Pride match as we bring back ’Caps & Queens. This is a great time to enjoy the summer in Vancouver and cheer on our ’Caps to victory.”

Wednesday, July 17 – ’80s Match presented by Chevrolet
Vancouver Whitecaps FC are back at BC Place as they take on Sporting Kansas City at 7:30 p.m. PT. Vancouver 86ers alumni will be in attendance and festivities include free arcade games such as Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, and Tetris.

Saturday, July 20 – Pride Match presented by BMO
The club will be hosting ’Caps & Queens Drag Happy Hour outside of BC Place prior to the club’s 11th Anniversary Pride Match. Venus, winner of Canada’s Drag Race Season 4, will be headlining Saturday’s performances. ’Caps & Queens is a free event open to all ages, with drinks starting at only $5.

Following ’Caps & Queens, Whitecaps FC will host Houston Dynamo FC in the first meeting of the season between the two sides with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. PT.
