VANCOUVER, BC – Whitecaps FC Residency teams hit the road for three matches in California this week. The action starts on Thursday against San Juan SC, followed by a doubleheader against De Anza Force on Saturday, and ending with Santa Cruz Breakers on Sunday.
U-18
A number of the club’s talented Residency products have moved to full-time training with the first team and WFC2. That, in turn, has opened up further opportunities for young players to step up with the U-18 squad.
The ‘Caps (15W-4L-6D, 51pts) have slipped slightly in the Northwest Division but remain in a playoff spot. This week’s matches could boost the Blue and White as they look to re-establish themselves as a force in their division against De Anza Force San Juan SC (4W-13L-9D, 21pts), (9W-11L-8D, 35pts), and Santa Cruz Breakers Academy (3W-20L-4D, 13pts).
U-16
The younger of the ‘Caps two USSDA squads have been on a roll in 2015, losing only once in their past 10 matches.
That form has seen the U-16 team (16W-3L-6D, 54pts) leap to the top of the Northwest Division. In order to stay there, they will need to be on top of their game against San Juan SC (7W-14L-5D, 26pts), De Anza Force (9W-10L-9D, 36pts), and Santa Cruz Breakers Academy (6W-17L-3D, 21pts).
