This year the 'Caps are operating three distinct Pre-Residency teams - U-13, U-14, and U-15 - which eventually leads into the club's Residency program.
Players are generally scouted from the club's partner league, the EA SPORTS BC Soccer Premier League (BCSPL).
Whitecaps FC Pre-Residency teams compete against older BCSPL teams, as well against fellow Pre-Academy teams from fellow Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs such as Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders FC. Players live at home with their own families and attend their own schools.
