Vancouver Whitecaps FC are giving supporters a chance to make it a 'Blue and White' holiday season with the purchase of Whitecaps FC merchandise.
This week saw the grand opening of the new Whitecaps FC store in Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby, BC. Located next to Sport Chek, the Whitecaps FC store carries a wide range of club merchandise, which is also available online at whitecapsfcshop.ca. The Whitecaps FC store will be open at Metrotown until Sunday, January 30, 2011.

Among the many items that are available for purchase at the Whitecaps FC store are the authentic and replica jerseys that the club will wear in Major League Soccer next season. First unveiled in early June, the new Whitecaps FC jersey combines the leading-edge technology of world-renowned soccer brand and official MLS uniform supplier adidas with the many traditions that the club have established during their many years of existence.
The new Whitecaps FC jersey features the club's new logo on the left chest, an MLS logo on the right arm, and a Canadian flag on the left arm. The front of the jerseys will also have the brand logo of Bell, the club's Premier Founding Partner. On the back collar, the text 'Since 1974' pays homage to the year when Whitecaps FC played their first season in the old North American Soccer League.
In keeping with the club's main traditions, the new Whitecaps FC primary uniform will be all white with "deep sea" blue trim. This includes the famous adidas three stripes running from the collar and down both arms of the primary jersey in deep sea blue, while thin horizontal stripes of deep sea blue run across the front of the jersey from above the chest and grow in thickness down the jersey's front. The horizontal stripes represent the lines in the water that are commonly seen across Vancouver's waterfront.
The new secondary uniform incorporates the club's other primary colour of deep sea blue with white trim. This includes three adidas stripes running from the collar and down both arms of the jersey in white. The secondary jersey also incorporates a pattern drawn from the shape of the new Whitecaps FC logo.
The club's new authentic jerseys are available in men's sizes, while the new replica jerseys (short sleeve) are available in men's, women's, and youth sizes. Authentic short-sleeve jerseys retail at $119.99 plus tax, while authentic long-sleeve jerseys retail at $129.99 plus tax. Replica jerseys retail at $99.99 plus tax. Customize jersey cresting is also available upon request.
'Caps fans can also purchase apparel, headwear, novelties, scarves, and soccer balls from the new Whitecaps FC store and online at whitecapsfcshop.ca. The new Whitecaps FC store at Metrotown is open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., as well as Sunday and holidays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
More than 15,000 Whitecaps FC season ticket deposits have been sold for the club’s inaugural season in MLS. Season ticket deposit holders will be able to choose from seven different seating categories starting at a base price of $319, plus applicable tax and a $10 processing fee per order. Pricing starts at less than $17 per game and more than 60 per cent of seats are available for less than $31 per game.
