VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced today that David Broadhurst will take on the expanded role of Whitecaps FC regional head coach.
Broadhurst has been working with Whitecaps FC in Vernon for the past three years building both Academy and camp programs while also providing services to the North Okanagan Youth Soccer Association (NOYSA). This new and expanded role will see Broadhurst focus full-time on Whitecaps FC programs – specifically growing Whitecaps FC Academy Centres and camps in the Okanagan and Kootenay.
“We’re very pleased to have David come on board full-time with Whitecaps FC,” said Dan Lenarduzzi, Whitecaps FC director of soccer development. “David’s experience locally along with his licensing, which includes a UEFA B English FA Coaching License and a soon-to-be completed UEFA A License, makes him a great asset to help grow our Academy Centre and camp programs in British Columbia, and eventually across Canada.”
Whitecaps FC Academy Centres are a network of regional Whitecaps FC training hubs linked through key staff, curriculum, and standards that provides professional supplemental club training for serious motivated players.
“We’re pleased to present our Whitecaps FC Academy Centres in partnership with a local club or association with the objective of building our brand and providing player development programs and opportunities,” added Lenarduzzi. “It’s important to state that within BC, Whitecaps FC Academy Centres are positioned to be complementary to EA SPORTS BC Soccer Premier League (BCSPL) programming – our partner league and main scouting vehicle for our programs in BC – either through geography or age of programming.”
This announcement coincides with the launch of this year’s Academy Centre programs in the Okanagan, and a new Kootenay Academy Centre program.
