VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC report for the start of their 2018 preseason camp on Monday at the National Soccer Development Centre.
A total of 27 players are expected for Monday’s Marketing, Media, and Medical Day, including newcomers Anthony Blondell, Efrain Juarez, and Kei Kamara. Also included on the preseason roster are training camp invitees David Edgar and Isaiah Hudson and unsigned SuperDraft selections Justin Fiddes and Lucas Stauffer.
Centre back Tim Parker, who is currently away with the U.S. men’s national team, will not be in attendance. Midfielders Marco Bustos and Deybi Flores, as well as keeper Spencer Richey, are away on loan.
Whitecaps FC begin on-field training on Tuesday and will train in Vancouver until January 31. The ‘Caps then depart for a 10-day camp in Hawaii, where they will take part in the Pacific Rim Cup Tournament with fellow MLS side Columbus Crew SC, J1 League club Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo, and Fukushima Prefectural Football League Division 1 side Iwaki FC.
In February, the ‘Caps will also travel to Nevada for a friendly against USL expansion club Las Vegas Lights FC on February 17 at Cashman Field, and then to Southern California from February 16-25, where they will face fellow MLS clubs Los Angeles Football Club and LA Galaxy.
Whitecaps FC kick off the 2018 MLS season against Montreal Impact on March 4 at BC Place. Tickets for the season opener are now available as part of the 2018 Home Opener Pack, which includes two tickets and a scarf for only $70. Season ticket memberships are also available, starting at only $44 per month. Single match tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday, February 9 at whitecapsfc.com/tickets.
