This weekend our Vancouver Whitecaps FC Girls Elite squad will compete in the Kevin McAdams Memorial Cup, hosted by Chilliwack FC at Townsend Park in Chilliwack.
“This will be another great test for the girls,” said Whitecaps FC Girls Elite head coach Jesse Symons. “We’re looking forward to the challenge.”
The McAdams Cup was initiated in 1994 as the women's equivalent to the J. F. Kennedy Cup. The intent is to bring out the best of the women's teams from Oregon, Washington and British Columbia and as such was the forerunner of the present Pacific Coast Soccer League (PCSL) Women's Premier Division. Kevin was the son of Len & Yvonne McAdams who died tragically in an accident at the age of 16 and is lovingly remembered by his parents as an avid soccer player.
The ‘Caps will be competing against 2012 PCSL regular season winners Fraser Valley Action, Washington champs Whatcom Soccer Academy Rapids, and Oregon champs Tualatin Hills United.
