The 'Caps Girls Elite team are coming off of a 2-0 semifinal win over the Peninsula Co-op Highlanders in Victoria on Sunday, March 10. Second-half goals from Margaret Hadley and Emma Fletcher propelled the ‘Caps to a victory that sealed a spot in the MWSL final.
To advance to the semi-finals, the ‘Caps defeated NSGSC (North Shore Girls Soccer Club) Renegades 2-1 at Simon Fraser University in their quarterfinal match.
Symons expects a strong challenge from their older opponents.
“We’ve played Surrey twice this year and have had a good showing against them,” said Symons. “We hope to control the tempo of the match. Surrey is a perennial champion and has a lot of veteran-type players in their lineup. We will be focused on staying disciplined, staying focused, and keeping a rhythm throughout the match.”
Make your way out to Hugh Boyd Stadium on Sunday afternoon for what promises to be an exciting final match.
