REUNION, FL – Vancouver Whitecaps FC will face Group D winner Sporting Kansas City on Sunday, July 26 in the Round of 16 of the MLS is Back Tournament. Kickoff for the matchup is at 8 p.m. PT live on TSN and TSN Radio 1040.
The ‘Caps advanced to the Knockout Stage with their 2-0 victory over Chicago Fire FC on Thursday morning. They finished among the four highest-ranked third place teams to clinch a Wild Card spot, completing Group B play with a 1W-2L-0D record.
Sporting KC earned an automatic qualification to the Knockout Stage after winning Group D with a 2W-1L-0D record.
The Round of 16 fixture features a rematch of the MLS regular season opener on February 29. Sporting KC won the contest 3-1 at BC Place.
The winner advances to the Quarterfinals to face the victors of the Round of 16 matchup between Philadelphia Union and New England Revolution. The Union and the Revs play on Saturday, July 25 at 7:30 p.m. PT live on TSN.
All tournament matches are held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Walt Disney World.
