VANCOUVER, BC
– The Whitecaps FC Development Squad will be heading to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan this summer to play in the SK Summer Soccer Series.
Head coach Nick Dasovic will lead his ‘Caps side into the Prairies to face the SK Selects on Thursday, July 25 at SMF Field in Saskatoon.
The July fixture will provide the next test for the team following a June trip to South Korea to face Daejeon Citizen FC and Suwon Samsung Blue Wings.
“We are really excited for the trip out to Saskatchewan in July,” said Dasovic. “Facing the SK Selects will be a great challenge for our team. We also can’t wait to connect with members of our

The Whitecaps FC Development Squad is a combination of up-and-coming Whitecaps FC first team players, Academy graduates and local talent, as well as top prospects currently in the Academy. Led by Canadian Soccer Hall of Famer Nick Dasovic as head coach, the group plays various competition from across the globe, including international trips in the past year to Mexico and England. SK Summer Soccer Series
The SK Summer Soccer Series (the “Series”) is a new event in Saskatchewan featuring the SK Selects, Saskatchewan’s best male soccer players, playing a series of friendly matches against a number of professional and high-level amateur teams over the Summer of 2019. The Series is intended to be a stepping stone towards bringing professional soccer to the Province of Saskatchewan.
