Vancouver Whitecaps FC have announced an update to the club’s coaching staff in the Northwest BC Academy Centre, which serves Prince Rupert, Terrace, and Kitimat.
Former Northwest head coach Eric Horsburgh has been promoted to associate head coach of the Whitecaps FC Lower Mainland Academy Centres. Horsburgh first joined the club in 2017 after previously working in Scotland and the United States.
“I’m thankful for my time in the Northwest,” said Horsburgh. “I look forward to seeing players from the region make visits to the Lower Mainland for future High Potential Prospect events.”
Taking over as head coach in the Northwest Academy is Adam Glass, a Canada Soccer B licensed coach who has spent the past year working as a staff coach in the Lower Mainland Academy Centres.
“We’re really excited for the opportunity to have someone of Adam’s experience and quality join our Northwest BC Academy Centre,” said Dan Lenarduzzi, Whitecaps FC director of soccer development. “Adam will be taking on the leadership role in the Northwest to work with all local associations and their players. He will also be continuing the work Eric started to identify HPP opportunities for players in the Northwest.”
