VANCOUVER, BC – One of the top up-and-coming talents in Asia is headed to Vancouver.
Vancouver Whitecaps FC have acquired South Korean international midfielder Inbeom Hwang via transfer from Daejeon Citizen FC and signed the 22-year-old as a Young Designated Player through 2020 with club options for 2021 and 2022, the club announced on Wednesday.
“Hwang is an exciting young talent who we identified early as one of our primary targets,” said Whitecaps FC head coach Marc Dos Santos. “He’s a creative midfielder who is incredibly gifted technically and was coveted by a number of clubs around the world. He fits into the style we want to play very well. We're excited to work with Hwang and help him reach his full potential.”

TRANSACTION: On January 30, 2019, Whitecaps FC acquire midfielder Inbeom Hwang via transfer from Daejeon Citizen FC. Hwang has agreed to a two-year contract through 2020, with club options for 2021 and 2022, as a Young Designated Player. He will occupy an international roster spot and officially join the club's roster pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and work permit.
After featuring for his national team at the U-17, U-20, and U-23 levels and winning the gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games, the 5-foot-10 midfielder made his senior international debut for South Korea in September 2018. Hwang opened his senior national team account with a goal versus Panama the following month and now has 12 caps under his belt.
Most recently, Hwang appeared in all five of South Korea’s matches at this month’s 2019 AFC Asian Cup, where he was listed as one of the 10 best young stars to watch at the competition.
At the time of South Korea’s elimination, Hwang was among the tournament’s top 10 leaders in both chances created (nine) and total passes (322). His nine chances created were also just one back of Tottenham Hotspur winger/forward Son Heung-min for the team-lead.
Hwang has spent his entire club career to date in the Korean first and second divisions, appearing in more than 100 matches and earning three consecutive Best XI selections in K League 2.
A native of Daejeon, South Korea, Hwang came through the youth system of his hometown club Daejeon Citizen FC before joining the first team in 2015. He made 81 starts in 88 league appearances for Daejeon, scoring 15 goals, while competing in K League 1 in 2015 and K League 2 from 2016 through 2018.
He also had a stint with K League 2 side Asan Mugunghwa FC in 2018, scoring a goal in 13 starts and 18 league appearances, before returning to Daejeon to finish the year.

영입: 2019 년 1 월 29 일, 화이트 캡스 FC 는 2019년 1월 30일 완전이적으로 황인범을 영입했다. 황인범은 2020년까지 Young DP로 2년 계약을 맺었다. (2021년과 2022년은 클럽 옵션) 황인범은 국제이적동의서(ITC)와 취업허가서를 받은 후 공식적으로 화이트캡스 FC에 합류하게 된다.
황인범은 대한민국 U-17, U-20, U-23 등 각 연령대별 국가대표로 활약하였고, 2018년에는 아시안게임대표(U-23)로 금메달을 수상하였다. 신장 177cm의 대한민국 국가대표 미드필더인 황인범은 2018년 9월 성인 국가대표로 데뷔했다. 같은 해 10월 파나마와의 친선경기에서 A매치 데뷔골을 기록했고, 현재 A매치 12경기 출전을 기록 중 이다.
2019년 아시안컵 대회에서 대한민국의 5경기에 모두 출전하였고, 아시안컵 대회에서 주목하여 볼 선수 10명에 선발되기도 했다.

대한민국 대전 출신인 황인범은 2015년 연고클럽인 대전 시티즌 유소년 시스템을 통하여 대전 시티즌에서 프로로 데뷔하였다. 2015년 K리그1 그리고 2016년부터 2018년까지 K리그2 대전 시티즌에서 총 88경기중 81경기 선발 출장하였으며 15골을 기록하였다.
2018년 시즌 중반 K리그2 아산 무궁화 이적하여(군복무대체) 총 18경기 중 13경기 선발 출장, 1골을 기록 후 대전 시티즌으로 돌아왔다(아시안게임 금메달로 군복무 면제).
