VANCOUVER, BC – The late Domenic Mobilio, who holds the all-time club record with 170 goals, was inducted into the Whitecaps FC Ring of Honour prior to Saturday’s match at BC Place.
Over 350 of Mobilio's friends and family were on hand for the induction ceremony. Domenic’s younger brother, Tony, addressed the crowd before the family received a commemorative ring from Whitecaps FC president Bob Lenarduzzi.
“[Domenic once] said to me, “I hope I made them feel the same way they made me feel every time I had the honour and pleasure of stepping onto the pitch, throwing on the club’s great jersey, and being able to play for this great group,” Tony said.
Following the ceremony, Curva Collective unveiled a tifo and chants of Mobilio's name rang around the stadium in the 10th minute.
