Vancouver Whitecaps FC centre back and captain Kendall Waston has been named to the MLS Team of the Week after recording a whopping 26 combined clearances in Vancouver’s 1-1 draw with Seattle Sounders FC and 2-1 away win over Orlando City SC last week.
Waston is now off to join Costa Rica for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against the United States and Mexico, but he is not expected to miss any action with Whitecaps FC.
After a weekend off for the FIFA international break, Whitecaps FC play host to Real Salt Lake on Saturday, September 9, BC Place – their first of four straight home matches in the month of September (tickets available at whitecapsfc.com/tickets).
