'Caps wrap up Marbella preseason camp with 2-0 win over IF Brommapojkarna

MARBELLA, SPAIN – Vancouver Whitecaps FC wrapped up their 2025 Marbella preseason camp with a 2-0 victory against Swedish side IF Brommapojkarna in their final preseason friendly. The win on Thursday aftersnoon was their second consectuve clean sheet, having beat Ukrainian side FC LNZ Cherkasy by the same score last Sunday.

Vancouver once again suited up in their new Black History Month kits.

After both side traded chances to open the half, the 'Caps would take the lead on the stroke of halftime through new signing Jayden Nelson. Following a build-up play down the right, the Canadian headed home the opening goal of the match thanks to a brilliant ball into the box from Édier Ocampo.

Following the break, it wouldn't take long for the Blue and White to double their advantage. Sebastian Berhalter and J.C. Ngando had some neat combination play in the middle of the park, with Berhalter playing a lovely through ball to Ali Ahmed. The Canadian international showed composure inside the box as he slotted home a calm, right-footed finish to make it 2-0.

The 'Caps would see out the rest of the match and claimed their second consecutive preseason win to round up their camp in Spain. The team will now head back to Vancouver on February 8 and will continue preparations in market ahead of their Concacaf Champions Cup Round One first leg at Deportivo Saprissa. The group is set to depart to San José, Costa Rica on February 18 ahead of the match on February 20.
