Ngando made 38 appearances across all competitions for Whitecaps FC
VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced Thursday that midfielder J.C. Ngando has cleared MLS waivers. The club and Ngando have mutually agreed to part ways.
“J.C. was an outstanding team player throughout his time with us and someone who was always ready to step in whenever he was needed,” said Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC sporting director. “We both agreed that it is important for him to take the next step at a club where he will have additional opportunities to play more regularly and consistently. We are grateful for everything J.C. contributed during his time in Vancouver and wish him all the best in the next chapter of his career.”
Ngando, 26, was selected fifth overall by Whitecaps FC in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft from the University of North Carolina Greensboro after signing a Generation adidas contract. The Cameroonian started 30 of his 38 appearances across all competitions for the club, recording three goals and seven assists. During his time at the club, he also played for Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2), starting 10 of his 13 appearances and scoring one goal as well as four assists. He spent the 2024 season on loan with USL Championship side Las Vegas Lights FC.
TRANSACTION: On September 3, 2026, Vancouver Whitecaps FC and midfielder J.C. Ngando mutually agreed to part ways. Ngando cleared MLS waivers prior to the close of the secondary transfer window.
