VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Tuesday that midfielder J.C. Ngando has been loaned to USL Championship side Las Vegas Lights FC through the end of the 2024 season.
“This is a great opportunity for J.C. to continue his development,” said Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC sporting director. “We have seen in preseason that he is very close, and now he needs consistent minutes. We are looking forward to tracking his progress throughout the season.”
Ngando, 24, was originally selected by Whitecaps FC as a Generation Adidas player 13th overall in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft. During his rookie season, he made 14 appearances in all competitions with the first team, including the MLS regular season, Concacaf Champions League, Canadian Championship, and Leagues Cup.
Additionally, Ngando made 10 starts in 13 appearances with Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2) in MLS NEXT Pro, recording one goal and three assists.
