VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Thursday that the club has acquired a 2021 international roster slot, the 46th overall selection (Round 2) of the 2021 MLS SuperDraft, presented by adidas, and up to $75,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) from Nashville SC in exchange for $175,000 in General Allocation Money and the 36th overall selection (Round 2) of the 2021 MLS SuperDraft. The $75,000 in conditional GAM to Whitecaps FC will be based on performance benchmarks of the player selected by Nashville SC.
Whitecaps FC hold 11 international slots through 2021 and currently have eight international players on their roster.
'Caps currently hold four picks in today's draft including ninth overall (Round 1), 23rd overall (Round 1), 46th overall (Round 2) and 53rd overall (Round 2).
