SANDY, UTAH – Vancouver Whitecaps FC players and staff were given the opportunity to voluntarily receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday afternoon at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah. The vaccination process is being conducted in coordination with the Utah Department of Health, with vaccines currently available in the state to anyone 16 or older.
“We worked closely with the Utah Department of Health to coordinate the right timing, as it was very important to us that we did not take away vaccines from those in need,” said Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC chief executive officer and sporting director. “This is an important step in returning to normalcy. We encourage everyone to receive their vaccine when they are able to do so.”
