With 37.76 per cent of the vote, the Uruguayan's long-range golazo is comfortably ahead in the race for the season's first MLS Goal of the Week award, with FC Dallas schemer Mauro Díaz running a distant second with 19.21 per cent.
The Houston Dynamo's crafty Honduran Boniek García occupies third place with 18.54 per cent, followed by Chicago Fire striker Quincy Amarikwa with 16.02 per cent. Finally, Fernández's teammate Pedro Morales comes in at 8.48 per cent.
