Voting is now open for the Whitecaps FC Player of the Month, presented by Coldwell Banker. Here are the nominees for April – a month in which the ‘Caps posted a 3W-2L-0D record with victories over LA Galaxy (4-2), Seattle Sounders FC (2-1), and Montreal Impact (2-1).
Who gets your vote?
Matias Laba: Led Whitecaps FC in touches, tackles, and successful passes during the month of April, while playing as a lone defensive mid in Vancouver’s last two outings. Scored two goals, including the game winner, in a 4-2 win over LA Galaxy.
Fredy Montero: Appeared in all five of Vancouver’s MLS regular season matches, scoring four goals and adding one assist. Highlights include a two-goal performance vs. Seattle Sounders FC, his former team, and a one-goal, one-assist showing as a sub vs. LA Galaxy.
Tim Parker: Played the full 90 minutes in all five of Vancouver’s MLS matches, recording a team-high 12 interceptions and 16 aerials won. Helped shut down the likes of Jordan Morris and Giovani dos Santos.
Cristian Techera: Scored two goals, including the game-winner last weekend vs. Montreal Impact, and added one assist in five appearances. Also created a team-high 10 chances.
