With your help, Vancouver Whitecaps FC captain Pedro Morales has advanced to the 2014 Latino del Año Final, where he’s up against Chivas USA striker Erick Torres (Mexico), LA Galaxy goalkeeper Jaime Penedo (Panama), and Seattle Sounders FC midfielder Marco Pappa (Guatemala).

To get to this point, the Chilean finished first in his group before knocking off Fabian Castillo and Marcelo Sarvas in the Round of 16 and quarterfinal rounds.

Morales’ first season in MLS was one to remember. The Chilean playmaker, who took over as captain following Jay DeMerit’s retirement, led Whitecaps FC with 10 goals and 12 assists this season. Vancouver’s record when Morales recorded a goal or assist was 10W-1L-4D.

Not surprisingly, Morales was named the 2014 Whitecaps FC BMO Player of the Year.
