The Chilean is one of eight players, and the lone from Whitecaps FC, remaining in the competition. His Whitecaps FC teammate Kendall Waston fell short to Seattle Sounders FC midfielder Gonzalo Pineda in the Round of 16.
Players who obtained the highest number of votes in the Round of 16 matchups have advanced to the quarterfinals, where eight players are paired in the knockout stage. The quarterfinal pairings are as follows:

Quarterfinal voting starts today and will close on Wednesday, November 12, at 8:59 p.m. PT. The player who receives the most votes in each pairing will advance to the Grand Finale, which will be composed of the last four players battling for the 2014 Latino del Año crown.
