Next Sunday, March 17, ‘Caps players will join Vancouver Canucks, BC Lions, and Vancouver Canadians players and mascots in a sports day celebration in support of children living with autism. Vancouver’s four professional sports teams will come together, for the first time, for a day of sports activities and fun with over 100 families. Participants will have the opportunity to learn hockey, soccer, football, and baseball techniques, and receive tips from the pros.
“We’re thrilled to be participating in this unique event that will see the four local professional sports teams work together for the first time,” said Bob Lenarduzzi, Whitecaps FC president. “Enriching the lives of those living with autism through soccer and sport is something we are glad to be involved in. We look forward to continuing to work with the Canucks Autism Network to deliver high value sporting activity to these children.”

There are over 7,000 children and youth struggling with Autism in British Columbia. By participating in this sports day, Whitecaps FC hopes to be able to provide a brief distraction and unforgettable memories for some of these children and their families.
