Due to a conflicting event at BC Place, and with no other venues available in the Vancouver market, should Vancouver Whitecaps FC finish as the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference, the MLS Cup Playoffs Wild Card match would be played at the No. 9 seed’s stadium.
“We worked closely with BC Place and MLS to explore all potential options. We are not a club that makes excuses and our focus is to win on Decision Day. Our goal is to improve every season, and our ambitions have not changed. We are focused on advancing to Round One of the MLS Cup Playoffs where we will have the opportunity to play at BC Place,” said Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC CEO & Sporting Director.
Based on the current MLS standings, if Vancouver finishes as the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference, their Wild Card match would be played against the ninth-seeded Portland Timbers at Providence Park.
Should Vancouver advance to MLS Cup Playoffs Round One, Whitecaps FC would host its home match at BC Place.
