TSN Sports counted down their top 10 Canadian men's players in a TSN Soccer Special show on Thursday evening, and it is no surprise that a familiar face headlined the list.
Whitecaps FC Homegrown product and current Bayern Munich fullback/winger Alphonso Davies topped analyst Kristian Jack's rankings. The 19-year old Bundesliga rising star made the move to Europe in 2018 after a fast ascent up the Whitecaps FC system and three seasons in MLS.
Offseason acquisition Lucas Cavallini landed at no. 7 on the list. The prolific striker joined Vancouver in December following eight years in the Mexican and Uruguayan top leagues, and has 83 goals and 225 appearances for club and country.
Rounding out the top 10 is Maxime Crépeau. Coming off a breakout season, the 2019 Whitecaps FC Player of the Year is the only goalkeeper to be selected to the list. The Quebec native set an MLS single-match record last year when he made 16 saves against San Jose Earthquakes in August.
