After playing the hero with a late winner against his former club Toronto FC on Sunday, Vancouver Whitecaps FC striker Tosaint Ricketts has been named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 10.
Coming on as an 85th minute substitute, Ricketts capitalized on a terrific through ball from Ryan Gauld to Lucas Cavallini, who then drove into the box and centred the ball for the goal.
It was the first goal of the season for Ricketts, and his first in front of the home faithful at BC Place.
Whitecaps FC are back at BC Place on Wednesday for a Canadian Championship tilt against Winnipeg's Valour FC of the Canadian Premier League. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT, with tickets available at whitecapsfc.com/tickets. The match will also be broadcast live on OneSoccer or Telus channel 980.
