Here are three storylines to get you set for the match.
#BRINGITHOME
The goal at the start of the season was to host a playoff match in Vancouver, and with three points on Sunday, the 'Caps will #bringithome.
A Whitecaps FC win, paired with an LA Galaxy loss or draw versus a Sporting Kansas City team that will be fighting for their playoff lives in Sporting Park, lifts the 'Caps to second in the Western Conference, giving them an automatic Knockout Round bye.
GETTING HEALTHY
With key players dealing with injuries, the team would definitely welcome a bye.
One key ingredient that appears to be close to being ready is Nicolas Mezquida. The nimble attacking midfielder has been sidelined since September 19, and it is no coincidence that the 'Caps have not been as potent since. Besides the chances he creates for himself, Mezquida also teams up well with fellow Uruguayan Octavio Rivero.
It will be interesting to see if Mezquida can provide productive minutes for head coach Carl Robinson.
MILESTONE MATCH
Sunday's match could see a number of milestones for the club.
With a draw or a win, the 'Caps would set a new club record for points earned in a season.
If David Ousted can record another clean sheet, he would tie the club record of 13 he set last year.
Finally, defender Jordan Harvey could make his 200th MLS regular season start in his 10-year career.
