- Whitecaps FC have secured a spot in the first round of the MLS Cup Playoffs, avoiding the wild card match and clinching the club’s first home playoff game since 2017
- The first round of the playoffs will be a best of three series, with the first team to win two matches advancing. More information on playoff format can be found HERE
- The 'Caps will host defending MLS Cup champions Los Angeles FC during Decision Day on Saturday, October 21 at BC Place
- Whitecaps FC are currently in fifth place. The 'Caps could finish as high as third
- In order to finish in the top four, and secure home field advantage in the first round, Whitecaps FC will need to win on Decision Day and have two of the following three scenarios occur:
- Houston loss/draw at Portland
- Seattle loss at St. Louis
- One Real Salt Lake loss or two draws in their two remaining matches at Los Angeles Galaxy (October 14) and at Colorado on Decision Day
