Kid Captain

Whitecaps FC are honoured to have Lennox Blair from BC Children's Hospital as Kid Captain for Saturday's match versus Chicago Fire FC.

Lennox’s journey with a rare immune disease, Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH), began just after his third birthday when his mom, Katie, noticed a bump on his head. His initial treatment involved four rounds of IV chemotherapy from January to May 2021. Just before his fourth birthday in 2021, Lennox received another MRI at BC Children’s Hospital, which revealed that his LCH had reoccurred. To combat the recurrence, Lennox underwent an additional six months of intensive IV chemotherapy. After a promising MRI in 2022, Lennox continues to take medication three times daily and is living like a normal, happy seven-year-old. Lennox has found ways to support BC Children’s Hospital, including a lemonade and freezie sale outside his house, raising $500 for the hospital.

Please join in welcoming Lennox to the match! Visit BC Children’s Hospital Foundation at section 212.

Supporter of the Match

Saturday's Supporter of the Match will be Alex Kanderka from the Sisters.

Alex has been a supporter and season member for nine years, since 2016.

Alex's favourite moment was the 2022 Canadian Championship final against Toronto FC, "lifting the Voyageurs Cup for the first time since 2015 was legendary". Also, winning the 50/50 in 2018!

Alex's favourite part about being in a supporters group is the connection and passion. "the highs feel even higher, and even in tough moments you've got people who get it... it's about building community and creating memories that last way beyond matchday."
