NEW YORK – The MLS Disciplinary Committee announced today Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder Sebastián Fernández has been suspended for a total of four games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of the player’s post-match actions following his team’s game against FC Dallas on October 29.
Fernández was issued a red card for violent conduct which carries an automatic two-game suspension. The midfielder was issued an additional two-game suspension by the MLS Disciplinary Committee for contact with the referee. He will now miss the first four games of the 2015 MLS regular season.
