VANCOUVER, BC – Close to 500 Vancouver Whitecaps FC fans travelled to Seattle on Wednesday to watch the Blue and White claim their first-ever win in the Emerald City.
It was a memorable night for the club, who had previously never beaten a Cascadia rival on the road in Major League Soccer, as well as a group of 19 supporters who made the trip in style.
Vancouver Southsiders member Kristjan Aug, also a pilot with Northern Thunderbird Air Inc., chartered an 18-seat flight from Vancouver to Seattle to take in Whitecaps FC’s historic 4-1 victory at CenturyLink Field.
If the result wasn’t enough, passengers also received in-flight snacks and drinks, a commemorative scarf, as well as a limo ride to and from the stadium.
The trip, dubbed “Wings Over Cascadia,” was the first of its kind.
