Vancouver Whitecaps FC attacking midfielder Ryan Gauld was named to the MLS Team of the Week bench on Monday for his performance against Portland Timbers in Week 6.
The Scottish playmaker scored his first goal of the season from the penalty spot in second half stoppage time, while adding one key pass, one successful tackle, two successful dribbles, two interceptions, six duels won and 82% passing accuracy.
Gauld becomes the third 'Caps player to be named to the Team of the Week this season, joining goalkeeper Thomas Hasal (Week 2) and defender Tristan Blackmon (Week 5).
Next up for the 'Caps is an all-Canadian clash against Eastern Conference side CF Montréal this coming Saturday, April 16 at Stade Saputo in Montréal, Québec. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. PT live on CTV, TSN4/5 and AM730 radio.
