VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC confirmed on Tuesday that midfielder Russell Teibert underwent successful right ankle surgery on Monday afternoon. Teibert is expected to make a full recovery prior to the start of the 2023 preseason training camp.
"We are pleased to hear that Russell's surgery was a success," said Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC sporting director. "We will help Russell throughout his recovery process and look forward to having him fully fit for the start of our preseason."
A product of the Whitecaps FC Academy, the 29-year-old native of Niagara Falls, Ontario, made 28 starts and 33 appearances across all competitions in 2022. Teibert currently sits tied for fourth in all-time appearances at the club with 286, recording five goals and 23 assists across that span.
