Yordy Reyna has been voted the Whitecaps FC Player of the Month for August, presented by Coldwell Banker, after earning 40 per cent of the votes in a poll conducted on Twitter last week.
Reyna narrowly beat striker Fredy Montero, who earned 39 per cent of the votes.
Reyna appeared in all five of Vancouver’s matches during the month of August, including three starts. The 23-year-old Peruvian attacking midfielder earned MLS Goal of the Week and Team of the Week honours after scoring a world-class, curling strike, and drawing a PK, against Houston Dynamo on August 19. The ‘Caps have yet to lose a game Reyna has started (2W-0L-2D).

Demian, who grew up in Langley, B.C., captained Canada at last month’s 2017 CONCACAF Boys’ Under-15 Championship, starting three of his four appearances and helping Canada reach the semifinals.
“Nathan was a major part of the U-15 national team squad that had a successful tournament this summer and we look forward to seeing him continue his form into the new season,” said Whitecaps FC U-17 Residency head coach Adam Day.
