It was a winning weekend for Whitecaps FC Residency teams as they traveled to Northern California on the weekend to face San Jose Earthquakes and Silicon Valley Soccer Academy.
U-19
Jefferson Alade scored the winning goal for the ‘Caps in the 54th minute on Saturday as they won 1-0 at San Jose.
On Sunday the ‘Caps won 5-0 against Silicon Valley.
Simon Stacey opened the scoring on 31 minutes, followed by goals from Jose Hernandez, Anthony Caceres, Alade, and Simon Colyn.
Goalkeepers Trevor Schneider and Evan Ince were in net for the 'Caps ninth and 10th clean sheets of the season.

U-17
The U-17s began their weekend with a 5-0 win in San Jose.
Patrick Ruszczyk, Thomas Raimbault, and Christian Campagna scored the first three, followed by two goals from Matteo de Brienne – including a wonderful solo run to cap the scoring.
Goalkeeper Chituru Odunze was in net for the the U-17s ninth clean sheet of the season.
Sunday brought a hard-fought 3-0 victory against Silicon Valley.
Damiano Pecile scored on a penalty kick, followed by a header from Campagna on an Ali Zohar corner kick. Goalkeeper Darlington Murasiranwa then came up with a big penalty kick save to preserve a 10th clean sheet for the U-17s before Ruszczyk rounded out the scoring.
“Overall, a very good display from the team,” noted U-17 head coach Adam Day on Sunday. “Silicon Valley were well organized and defended extremely well, and their goalkeeper was outstanding. We had to be very patient for our goals. The boys now get some well-earned rest for spring break before returning for the last stretch of the season building into playoffs.”

U-15
The U-15s won 3-1 against San Jose on Saturday.
The first two goals came from Dale Reas-Do and Frixos Petsas, each setting up the other’s goal. San Jose then saw a red card, but battled back to make it 2-1. However Brian Ananias scored the third goal for the ‘Caps to secure the win.
Sunday’s match ended in a 2-0 win against Silicon Valley.
Jaeden Mercure opened the scoring on an excellent cross from Eric White. Kam Habibullah then doubled the lead to 2-0 on a creative dribble and assist from Reas-Do.
“Overall it was a good weekend from the group,” noted U-15 head coach James Merriman. “We had two strong performances from our group as we prepare to face international competition at the Rotterdam Football Cup next week.”

U-14
The U-14s played to a 1-1 draw against Vancouver Island Wave 2004s in their final match before their trip to London.
Jay Herdman scored for the ‘Caps, assisted by Luke Norman.
“The boys learned a valuable lesson today,” noted U-14 head coach Scott Howey. “They controlled the match but were unable to extend their lead, and when you’re not ruthless enough to put the match away it only takes a moment to let the opponents back into the match. These experiences will serve us well in our upcoming challenges against international competition.”
