Whitecaps FC Residency teams were at home against Portland Timbers this past weekend, as they inch closer towards the Development Academy playoffs.
U-15
The U-15s had the best result of the day, earning an emphatic 6-0 win over the rival Timbers.
Frixos Petsas scored twice in the first half, followed by a 25-yard rocket from Kam Habibullah. Brian Ananias, Jaeden Mercure, and Ryan Edwards then added second half goals.
“The team showed an excellent mentality today from start to finish,” U-15 head coach James Merriman told whitecapsfc.com. “It was a very strong performance from the group with some great team goals scored. We now quickly shift our focus to prepare for our next match vs. Crossfire Premier.”

U-19
The U-19s fell to a surprise 3-0 defeat against their Cascadia rivals.
Two first half goals, and one in the final 10 minutes saw the visitors leave with the win.
With the result, the ‘Caps remain in second place in the Northwest Division standings in a tight race for the top spot.

U-17
After taking an early lead, the U-17s were also stunned in a 3-1 defeat.
Ali Zohar was credited with the goal in the eighth minute, but the Timbers scored their goals on either side of halftime for the final score.
The result sees them remain in second place in the Northwest Division.
“We were excellent for the first 30 minutes and should have been at least two up, and suddenly we gift them the first goal and in a five minute spell we concede three goals,” noted head coach Adam Day. “In the second half they sat in, but we didn't do enough. We will pick the guys up and go again for next week.”
