Residency Report: 'Caps get home results against SVSA and San Jose

Whitecaps FC Residency teams were in action on both Saturday and Sunday at the National Soccer Development Centre (NSDC), facing Silicon Valley Soccer Academy (SVSA) and San Jose Earthquakes.



U-19

The ‘Caps came out firing on Saturday with a 5-2 win over SVSA.


Jefferson Alade scored two goals, with the others coming from Theo Bair, Nikolas Papakriakopoulos, and Jalen Watson.

On Sunday the ‘Caps returned to the field with a 2-1 win over San Jose Earthquakes.
Theo Bair opened the scoring three minutes in on a build-up from Michael Baldisimo and Noah Verhoeven off of a short corner kick.
After San Jose tied it in the 30th minute, Bair then scored his second of the match in the 87th minute, heading in a cross from Baldisimo for the winner.

U-17
The U-17s started off with a 6-1 victory Saturday over SVSA.
The goals were scored by Keisean Brooks, Simon Colyn, Nikolas White, Patrick Rusczyk, Logan Chung, and Kyle Gomes.

The ‘Caps followed up with a 4-0 win over San Jose on Sunday.
Nikolas White opened the scoring, with Keisean Brooks then scoring two goals, and Damiano Pecile rounding things out.

“Overall a good weekend from the boys,” U-17 head coach Adam Day told whitecapsfc.com. “There were some moments that we need to improve upon, but I feel the guys are starting to get close to the levels that we expect from them now, so all positive signs.”
U-15
The U-15s played to a 2-2 draw against SVSA on Saturday.
Frixos Petsas and Niko Sigur scored the goals.

The Sunday match ended in a 4-1 defeat against San Jose. Kam Habibullah scored the goal for the ‘Caps.

“Overall it was a very competitive weekend for us with both matches,” noted U-15 head coach James Merriman. “The group has worked hard over a busy couple of weeks and will now take a needed rest this weekend before getting back to work and preparing for our next games.”
