WEEKLY STORYLINES
TEXAS-SIZED SHOWDOWN: Vancouver Whitecaps FC continue their busy May stretch this week as they play two key matches against Western Conference opposition. First up, the ‘Caps hit the road for a mid-week encounter against FC Dallas on Wednesday at Toyota Stadium. The Blue and White are undefeated in their last seven meetings against the Toros, posting a 4W-0L-3D record. The streak includes the 'Caps last MLS away win, which came at Toyota Stadium last June via a 2-0 victory. Wednesday's game will mark Vancouver's third away match in the last eight days.
ON THE ROAD: Three of the next four matches for the 'Caps will take place on the road, starting with Wednesday's clash against Dallas, then taking on Canadian Premier League side Pacific FC in the Canadian Championship semifinals on May 24 and wrapping up the stretch with a first-ever trip to face expansion side St.Louis CITY SC at CITYPARK on May 27. The Blue and White have claimed points from three of their last four road matches in MLS play.
SILENCE THE SOUNDERS: Later in the week, the ‘Caps are set to host Next Gen Night at BC Place as they welcome Cascadia rivals Seattle Sounders FC to town on Saturday, May 20 for the first of three meetings this season. Vancouver’s previous clash against the Sounders came last September at BC Place, with the ‘Caps claiming a 2-1 victory thanks to goals from Pedro Vite and Julian Gressel.
