WEEKLY STORYLINES
TEXAS-SIZED CLASH: Following a 5-0 first leg victory over Real CD España in Concacaf Champions League action, we're set to quickly turn our focus to MLS play, as we host fellow Western Conference side FC Dallas this Saturday in our second annual Women and Girls in Sport match. We beat the Texans twice last season, claiming a 2-1 victory at home and winning the away fixture 2-0. We've also won the previous three meetings at BC Place against Dallas.
WOMEN AND GIRLS IN SPORT: On Saturday, we'll be celebrating Women & Girls in Sport. The club will be running pre-match soccer clinics for local girls players and youth clubs. The South Sisters will be hosting a Women's Soccer Rally at The Ox Pub on Granville Street starting at 11 a.m. PT, including Sarita Patel, Stephanie Labbé, Emma Humphries, and Bev Priestman. The national anthems will feature a powerhouse quarter of Marie Hui, Arielle Tuliao, Elizabeth Irving, and Ema Lake singing in harmony. During the match, keep your eyes out for Carlin Jackson's live mural painting to recognize Women & Girls in Sport.
SHARING THE LOAD: After Wednesday's win in CCL play, we have a total of six different goalscorers from all over the pitch. Defenders Tristan Blackmon, Javain Brown and Ryan Raposo have scored once, while midfielder Alessandro Schöpf, attacking midfielder Pedro Vite and forward Brian White also have a goal each so far this season. Meanwhile, midfielder Julian Gressel leads the assist department with three and Ryan Gauld sits in second with two assists. Raposo also has an assist to his name.
