WEEKLY STORYLINES
IT'S BEEN A MINUTE: Following their mid-season break, Vancouver Whitecaps FC are back in MLS action, this Saturday, June 15 as they hit the road for an Eastern Conference clash against New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium. The Blue and White last faced off with the Revs in June 2022, as the two sides played to a draw at BC Place. Saturday will also mark the first time Vancouver visits Gillette Stadium since July 2019.
GAULD WATCH: A key part of the 'Caps recent success has been the play of Ryan Gauld. The Scotsman, who is the only player to appear in every match across all competitions this season, has followed up on his MVP-calibre season in 2023 by recording 11 goal contributions (seven goals, four assists) in his last 13 MLS appearances. Gauld also sits as the club's leader in goal contributions in the MLS era with 71 (33 goals, 38 assists).
ROAD 'CAPS: Saturday's match against New England begins a hefty road stretch for the 'Caps, with six of the next seven matches across all competitions coming away from home. Vancouver will be looking to build on their impressive road form this year, as they hold the joint-best road record in the Western Conference at 4W-2L-2D (14 points), which is also tied for the third-best in the league. The 'Caps last road match saw them claim a 2-1 victory against Sporting Kansas City on May 29.
