WEEKLY STORYLINES

BACK AT BC PLACE: After three consecutive matches on the road, Vancouver Whitecaps FC are back at BC Place for a three-match homestand. First up, the 'Caps face Canadian rivals CF Montréal on Saturday in their first match against Eastern Conference opposition this season. Saturday's clash will also mark the first time Montréal play at BC Place since September 2020, with the 'Caps posting a 4W-1L-0D record in their last five home matches against their fellow Canadians.

MONTRÉAL CONNECTIONS: Saturday's match will see plenty of connections between the two teams. On the 'Caps side, defender Karifa Yao and goalkeeper coach Youssef Dahha each previously spent time with Montréal, while Montréal goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois was briefly part of the 'Caps in 2020 at the MLS is Back tournament. Goalkeeper Thomas Hasal and fullback Ryan Raposo were U-23 men's national teammates back in 2021 with Montréal goalkeeper James Pantemis and defender Zachary Brault-Guillard.

MAGIC NUMBER THREE: In the 'Caps last match at Minnesota United FC, Simon Becher notched his second goal of the season to secure a crucial away point for Vancouver, becoming the second player to score in each of their first three appearances for the club. The last 'Caps player to accomplish the feat was Uruguayan striker Octavio Rivero, scoring in the first three matches of the 2015 MLS regular season against Toronto FC, Chicago Fire FC, and Orlando City SC.
