ON THE LINE: Whitecaps FC and Montreal Impact meet again on Wednesday evening just three nights removed from a testy and physical affair that saw each club reduced to 10 men at BC Place over the weekend. The ’Caps look to earn an important three points at home to close out the Canadian phase of the MLS continuation of play on a winning note before heading out on the road. For the Impact, a win for sends them to the 2020 Canadian Championship Final against the Canadian Premier League Island Games winner.
ROTATION OR CONTINUITY: Wednesday night is the second of five matches in 15 days for the 'Caps, including the final three away from Vancouver. Marc Dos Santos, who opted for the same XI in the last two matches, will face the decision between continuity or rotation with a competitive slate ahead featuring four clubs currently in the playoff picture. Cristian Dajome, Cristian Gutierrez, Fredy Montero, Jake Nerwinski, and Yordy Reyna each came off the bench in the last fixture and provided a lift on Sunday evening.
FILLING CAVA'S SHOES: With Lucas Cavallini serving a suspension following his red card last Sunday, the 'Caps will have a variety of options for the attack. Theo Bair is coming off scoring his first goal of the season and David Milinkovic had one of his stronger outings in a 'Caps uniform last Sunday. Cristian Dajome, Fredy Montero, Yordy Reyna, and Ryan Raposo are also available while Tosaint Ricketts remains a potential option after sitting out the last match while dealing with a knock.
