VANCOUVER, BC – After two consecutive matches on the road, Vancouver Whitecaps FC are back at BC Place this week to kickoff a four-game homestand. First up is a Western Conference clash against Cascadia rivals Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday, July 8 as the club hosts its 10th Anniversary Pride Match. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT

Saturday's match will mark the 150th meeting between the two sides in official competition and the second of three meetings in MLS play between the teams this season.

WEEKLY STORYLINES

SILENCING THE SOUNDERS: Vancouver Whitecaps FC return to BC Place this week as they get set to begin a four-game homestand, starting with a clash against Cascadia rivals Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday. The 'Caps come into the match unbeaten in their last nine MLS home matches dating back to March 11, scoring 20 goals and keeping four clean sheets during that span. The run includes a 2-0 win against the Sounders in the last meeting back on May 20. Meanwhile, Seattle have posted a 1W-2L-3D record in their last six matches in MLS play and haven't won in Vancouver since 2018.

'CAPS & QUEENS: Saturday's match will see the club host its 10th Anniversary Pride Match, with several activations set to take place throughout the day including 'Caps & Queens, Vancouver's largest drag happy hour. 'Caps & Queens is free event open to ages 19+, which will be hosted at the corner of Robson Street and Beatty Street and will feature drinks starting at only $5, a live set from DJ Nick Bertossi, several drag performances, food trucks, and much more. All the fun begins at 3 p.m. PT. At halftime of the match, Synthia Kiss will be in-stadium to perform, as well as a very special ensemble from the Rainbow Concert Band, Canada's only LGBTQ2S+ concert band.

BATTLE FOR CASCADIA: The next chapter of the 'Caps rivalry against the Sounders will be written on Saturday, as the match will mark the 150th all-time meeting between the two sides, dating all the way back to each franchise's expansion season in 1974. The Blue and White currently sit second in this year's Cascadia Cup standings, one point away from first-placed Portland Timbers. With a win on Saturday night, the 'Caps will take one step closer to securing their seventh Cascadia Cup.
