VANCOUVER, BC – With two matches to go until playoffs, it's time to get back on track. Vancouver Whitecaps FC (13W-11L-8D) are set to host Western Conference rivals LAFC (17W-8L-7D) this Sunday, October 13 in their regular season home finale and Fan Appreciation Match at BC Place, presented by Chevrolet. Currently sitting eighth in the West with 47 points, the 'Caps will look to end their regular season campaign on a high as they continue to fight for playoff positioning in the conference. Kickoff for Sunday's match is set for 4:30 p.m. PT.

Sunday will mark the 20th all-time meeting between the two teams and the third meeting across all competitions this year.

WEEKLY STORYLINES

BEAT LA: With every playoff spot filled in the Western Conference, Vancouver Whitecaps FC will look to continue their fight for playoff positioning this week with their regular season home finale against LAFC on Sunday, October 13 at BC Place. The 'Caps currently sit eighth in the Western Conference with 47 points and can still finish as high as fifth in the standings - Sunday's match is the game in hand on playoff-bound teams in the conference. The match will also mark the second consecutive season in which the 'Caps host LAFC in their final regular season home match and the third meeting this year between the two sides. The last meeting came in Leagues Cup play back in July, as Vancouver claimed a shootout win at BMO Stadium after drawing 2-2 in regulation thanks to goals from Sebastian Berhalter and Ranko Veselinović.

INTERNATIONAL CALL-UPS: The Blue and White will be missing six players on Sunday due to international duty with their respective countries. Ali Ahmed and Sam Adekugbe are set to join up with Canada for an international friendly against fellow Concacaf rivals Panama on Tuesday, October 15, while Ryan Gauld received his second consecutive call-up to Scotland as they get set to compete in a pair of UEFA Nations League matches this window. In addition, Fafa Picault will join Haiti for a pair of matches against Aruba in Concacaf Nations League action. Lastly, Andrés Cubas and Pedro Vite have been called up to Paraguay and Ecuador for the next round of CONMEBOL 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup Qualifiers - they could face each other as Ecuador hosts Paraguay on Thursday, October 10.

FAN APPRECIATION MATCH: With the upper bowl open, the club is expecting more than 30,000 fans for Sunday's Fan Appreciation Match, presented by Chevrolet. Several activities are set to take place including The Warmup on Terry Fox Plaza featuring giveaways, music, facepainting, games, a player signing also featuring Whitecaps FC alum Tosaint Ricketts, and the opportunity to get a photo with the TELUS Canadian Championship trophy. In addition, the national anthems will be sung by Elizabeth Irving in the Whitecaps FC supporters section, lucky season ticket members will be surprised with game worn jerseys during the match, and many more giveaways will also take place throughout the day.
