WEEKLY STORYLINES

DECISION DAY: With every playoff spot filled in the Western Conference, Vancouver Whitecaps FC head into Decision Day looking to move into seventh in the West. With a Vancouver win, as well as a Minnesota United FC loss against St. Louis CITY SC, the 'Caps would finish seventh and progress to the MLS Cup Playoffs Round One Best-Of-3 series. A combination of a win and a Minnesota draw could also see Vancouver progress to the first round but as the tiebreaker would come down to the goal differential, goals for or even disciplinary points.

FAMILIAR FACES IN FAMILIAR PLACES: Saturday's match will carry some extra importance for a pair of familiar faces on each team. Forward Damir Kreilach will be making his return to Salt Lake since joining the 'Caps last December. The Croatian first joined the Claret and Blue in 2018 and went on to make 168 appearances, while tallying 56 goals as well as 25 assists across all competitions for the side. In addition, 'Caps fans will recognize a familiar face on RSL in defender Javain Brown. The Jamaican international was acquired by Salt Lake in July and has gone on to make five appearances. Brown was originally selected 23rd overall by Whitecaps FC at the 2021 MLS SuperDraft and started 81 of his 107 appearances across all competitions for the club, recording two goals and 10 assists.
