WEEKLY STORYLINES
SHUT DOWN THE GALAXY: Vancouver Whitecaps FC continue their homestand at BC Place on Saturday as they host an in-form Los Angeles Galaxy side. The Galaxy find themselves in the midst of an unbeaten streak, posting a 2W-0L-4D record in their last six matches. However, the 'Caps have only dropped one of their last seven meetings against the Galaxy at BC Place, with the previous clash ending in a 3-0 victory for Vancouver.
GAULD RUSH: Attacking midfielder Ryan Gauld heads into Matchday 26 as one of the most in-form players in MLS. The Scotsman has recorded six goals and five assists in his last eight appearances across all competitions, with five of those goals, as well as two assists, coming at BC Place. Gauld, who was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for a team-high fifth time this week, equalled the club-record for most assists across all competitions in the club's MLS era (26) with his assist on Sergio Córdova's goal against Austin FC.
LEAGUES CUP ON THE HORIZON: The 'Caps four-game homestand culminates next week with the club's opening match of the inaugural Leagues Cup tournament against defending Concacaf Champions Cup winners and LIGA MX side Club León on Friday, July 21. The match will see a pair of Ecuadorian internationals face each other as Pedro Vite takes on his national team teammate Ángel Meña. Tickets are available at www.whitecapsfc.com/tickets.
