VANCOUVER, BC – David Ousted’s Week 3 reaction save against New England Revolution has been crowned the 2014 Whitecaps FC Save of the Year, presented by Canadian Direct.
The acrobatic stop, which was also the MLS Save of the Week in Week 3, took home the honours after earning a whopping 44 per cent of the vote. There were a total of eight nominees, including a diving Marco Carducci save and a Pedro Morales goal line clearance.
Ousted’s Week 3 save carried the “Great Dane” to his first of 13 clean sheets this season, which was a league high and three more than the next closest goalkeeper.
