VANCOUVER, BC
– Vancouver Whitecaps FC confirmed today that
Omar Salgado
will join Liga MX side Tigres UANL on a 12-day trial from October 6 to 17. The 6-foot-4 striker left for San Nicolás de los Garza, Mexico earlier today.
Salgado, 21, has made 29 MLS regular season appearances, including 12 starts since joining the club in 2011. This season, after a brief stint with USL PRO side Charleston Battery, Salgado has appeared in eight matches with Whitecaps FC in regular season competition.
At the international level, the native of El Paso, Texas, has represented the United States at the U-17, U-18, U-20 and U-23 levels.
