VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC confirmed on Friday that midfielder David Norman underwent successful surgery this morning for a fifth metatarsal fracture in his right foot.
Norman suffered the injury during the second half of the Development Squad game at AFC Bournemouth on March 26.
“We are happy to hear that David’s surgery was a success,” said Whitecaps FC head coach Marc Dos Santos. "We anticipate he will be back to full training near the end of summer."
Norman, a product of the Whitecaps FC youth system, signed an MLS Homegrown contract in December 2017. The 20-year old midfielder spent the second half of 2018 on loan with Scottish Championship side Queen of the South, making 10 appearances.
